You've never seen twisted pair matrix switchers quite like these. The new MTPX Plus Series comprises the most integration-friendly twisted pair matrix switchers on the market, enabling A/V systems to be installed faster and more economically than ever before. Enhanced integration features, such as dynamic skew compensation, local audio outputs, local RS-232 insertion ports, and local video inputs and outputs, combine to eliminate integration headaches commonly encountered with other twisted pair solutions.
Level and Peaking Compensation
MTPX Plus Series twisted pair matrix switchers feature individual level and peaking adjustments on each input. As with skew compensation, level and peaking adjustments are made for each input during installation and stored in memory. When an input is selected, the level and peaking compensation is automatically recalled from memory and applied instantly, resulting in an optimized image quality for every cable length.
Dynamic Skew Equalization
The MTPX Plus Series features integrated skew equalization on all inputs and outputs. This groundbreaking methodology enables the necessary skew compensation to be configured during installation for each input/output combination, which is then applied automatically during operation. Since the skew equalization technology is built into the matrix switcher, no skew equalization is required in the receivers.
Local Video and Audio Inputs and Outputs
In addition to the MTP inputs and outputs, MTPX Plus Series matrix switchers include local inputs and outputs for video and audio. Local video and audio inputs and outputs enable direct connection of equipment that is located within the same rack as the MTPX Matrix Switcher. This greatly reduces system complexity by eliminating the need for additional MTP Series transmitters and receivers. The result is significant cost savings on rack space, equipment, cabling, and power requirements.
EDID Minder® - MTPX Plus 128 Only
The MTPX Plus 128 features EDID Minder®, a selectable feature that enables automatic and continuous management of the EDID information between the local input sources and the local displays. EDID Minder® automatically captures and stores EDID information from the display. It also can generate emulated EDID data with 28 selectable rates to match the native resolution of the display. By maintaining continuous EDID communication with all local sources, EDID Minder® ensures that the source powers up properly and reliably outputs content to the display.
Other features of the MTPX Plus 128 include RS-232 insertion ports for all outputs and switchable video pre-peaking on all outputs.
Local RS-232 Insertion Ports
MTPX Plus Series twisted pair matrix switchers feature local RS-232 insertion ports, which allow direct insertion of bidirectional serial control signals into any MTP output. These insertion ports eliminate the need for additional control infrastructure for remote displays. Also, adding RS-232 signals to the MTP output extends serial control beyond the recommended 100-foot distance.
MTP U T A D
The Extron MTP U T A D is a two-gang Decora-style, Universal Twisted Pair Transmitter with dedicated VGA, HD component video, S-video, composite video, and audio inputs for sending a wide variety of video signals along with summed mono audio signals over a single CAT 5-type cable.
When paired with the Extron MTP U T A D Universal Twisted Pair Transmitter and Extron MTP U R Series Universal Twisted Pair Receivers, MTPX Plus Series Twisted Pair Matrix Switchers allow composite video, S-video, component video, or RGBHV, along with audio or RS-232 control signals, to be sent over a single CAT 5-type cable and output on the appropriate connector at the display.
MTP U R Series Universal Receivers
MTP U R Series universal receivers are fully compatible with Extron MTPX and MTPX Plus Series Twisted Pair Matrix Switchers and all MTP Series transmitters. Because they are compact, they can fit just about anywhere: in equipment racks, under tables and desktops, or next to a projector.
The three models in the series are the MTP U R A that accepts video and audio signals, the MTP U R RS SEQ that accepts video and bidirectional RS-232 control signals and offers skew compensation, and the MTP U R RSA SEQ that accepts video, audio, and bidirectional RS-232 control signals and provides skew compensation. The receivers come in compact metal enclosures with versatile mounting options.
